Winterville, Clapham Common ★★★★ FREE

With all of the exciting winter fairs and light shows popping, it’s hard to choose which one is best during the busy Christmas season. Well, this one is a little different and has all the charm other winter festivals have lost or never achieved. With a name like Winterville, it certainly lives up to the idea that a little village has been created. It has something for everyone, with a mix of normal and quirky, and a whole lot of fun in a local neighbourhood giant park a little south of the Thames.

Ice rink, roller rink, a craft Spiegeltent, a backyard cinema, circus, golf, fairground, live shows (DJ, musical bingo, bus theatre, drag shows, Mexican wrestling, puppet show – adult & children, song yoga, Christmas jumper catwalk), pub tents, secret tequila bar, outdoor food fests, magic shows, this one has it all and with all the charm. The only problem is what activity to choose … so much but still small enough to manage and not get overwhelmed by crowds and chaos.
