Based on a true story, “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” deals with a teenager who doesn’t fit in but who is confident and is supported by his mother and many classmates. It is an uplifting musical with some clever and thoughtful dialogue and some very infectious songs. The choreography is a delight and most of the audience is left wondering, ‘how do you do that in high heels?’ John McRea totally inhabits his role as Jamie and it is hard to imagine someone else taking on the part. With a strong cast, the story remains real while working within the constraints of the musical comedy genre. Positive, thought-provoking and fun... “Jamie” has it all.
